Do you overeat because you are trying to deal with
your negative feelings?

You may not even realize you are doing it.

Our brains often operate on autopilot, but there is always a thought and feeling behind our actions.

Most of us don’t even know what we are thinking.

We just numb our feelings with food.

We think it makes us feel better and often it does, but only while we are eating it.

The comfort we get from eating when we aren’t hungry
seems worth it, but is it?

The negative feelings are still there when we are done eating and then we beat ourselves up for it.

We feel stuffed, bloated, angry at ourselves for
eating when we weren’t hungry, upset that we feel out of control around food.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

The first step is awareness, you need to slow down
instead of acting on autopilot.

Before you reach for food, pause and ask yourself
the following questions:

  1. Why am I reaching for food?
  2. Am I really hungry?
  3. If I’m not hungry, will eating this truly make me feel better?
  4. What do I really need right now?

This takes some practice, but there is magic in that
pause.

Try it, keep trying it, practice the pause.
